Implant Dentures Q&A

What are implant dentures?

Implant dentures are artificial teeth supported by titanium tooth roots (dental implants). Dr. Munné inserts the implants into your jawbone, where they remain intact long-term – even for a lifetime when cared for properly. Anna M. Munné, DDS, PA & ASSOCIATES, offers various implant-supported dentures based on your preferences, lifestyle, and unique oral health needs.

What are the benefits of implant dentures?

If you have severely damaged or missing permanent teeth, implant dentures offer the following benefits:

  • Full set of natural-looking teeth
  • Beautiful smile
  • Long-lasting results
  • Sturdy, strong teeth
  • No tooth gaps
  • Easier chewing
  • Clearer speech
  • Self-confidence

Implant dentures look, function, and feel just like natural teeth. They can make your smile flawless and dramatically improve your quality of life.

What are the different types of implant dentures?

The different implant dentures available at Anna M. Munné, DDS, PA & ASSOCIATES include:

  • Removable implant dentures: dentures you can remove from your mouth
  • Fixed implant dentures: dentures that stay fixed in place
  • Partial implant dentures: dentures that replace some of your natural teeth
  • Full implant dentures: dentures that replace all natural teeth
  • All-on-4™ dentures: full dentures supported by just four dental implants

The right choice for you depends on your oral health, the number of teeth you need replaced, your preferences, and your lifestyle.

Dr. Munné reviews your oral health history, examines your teeth, and takes dental X-rays before personalizing a tooth restoration treatment just for you.

What happens when receiving implant dentures?

If you don’t have enough sturdy jawbone to support dental implants, you might first undergo bone grafting.

During dental implant placement, Dr. Munné numbs the treatment area and inserts titanium dental implants into your jawbone. After your bone heals around the implants, which may take several months, she scans your mouth to develop custom-fitted removable or fixed dentures.

When your new artificial teeth are ready, she securely attaches them to the implants and ensures they fit properly and comfortably.

How can I take good care of implant dentures?

Care for your new implant dentures properly by brushing your teeth after meals, using a dentures cleaning kit if you have removable dentures, and not chewing on hard objects. See Anna M. Munné, DDS, PA & ASSOCIATES, at least every six months for dental cleanings and checkups.
