Join New Story Schools In-District Services (IDS) as we partner with local school districts to enhance special education by providing BCBAs, Teachers, RBTs, and Paraprofessionals for their classrooms. As an Instructional Coach, you'll work alongside special education teachers to implement research-based, student-centered instructional practices. You'll coach through modeling, co-teaching, and feedback, support curriculum alignment, and help create inclusive and engaging learning environments. This is a non-evaluative, mentoring-focused role aimed at professional growth and student success.


Your Role as an Instructional Coach:
  • Collaborative Engagement: Establish strong coaching relationships by partnering with teachers through co-teaching, classroom observations, lesson modeling, and reflective dialogue.
  • Curriculum Alignment: Support educators in planning lessons that align with state standards, instructional goals, and adopted curriculum frameworks.
  • Instructional Modeling: Demonstrate effective, inclusive, and student-centered teaching practices that foster active learning and engagement.
  • Educator Development: Plan and facilitate high-quality professional development sessions tailored to instructional growth and teacher needs.
  • Reflective Growth: Promote educator self-reflection, goal setting, and continuous improvement through structured feedback and collaboration.
  • Data-Driven Support: Guide instructional teams in analyzing student data to inform planning, adapt teaching strategies, and monitor progress.
  • Technology Integration: Encourage the use of digital tools and innovative teaching practices to create dynamic and future-ready learning environments.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to company policies and procedures, including maintaining student confidentiality and following established safety protocols.
  • Regional Outreach: Provide in-person coaching and support across assigned school locations, ensuring consistent and impactful implementation.
  • Instructional Expertise: Demonstrated mastery of instructional strategies, curriculum design, and standards-based teaching practices.
  • Behavioral Insight: Strong understanding of student behavioral needs and appropriate classroom supports.
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to manage diverse responsibilities and shift seamlessly between classrooms and coaching roles.
  • Professional Presence: Exhibit reliability, approachability, and professionalism in all interactions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Certification: Current and valid PA Instructional II Special Education certification.
  • Teaching Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a special education classroom.
  • Instructional Leadership: Demonstrated success in mentoring or supporting other educators.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Organizational Strength: Skilled in managing multiple priorities and tracking progress.
  • Crisis Response Capability: Able to perform non-violent crisis interventions when necessary.
  • Mobility & Agility: Physically able to redirect students or respond quickly in emergencies.
