Job Summary

The Instructional Coach is a teacher level position that supports classroom teachers with the implementation of “best practices” in curriculum, instruction, and assessment in all core content areas. This position will be responsible for providing on-going professional development and assist teachers with linking assessment results to instructional decision-making. The Instructional Coach may also assist with identifying and implementing materials/resources/technology to support student achievement.

Education:

• Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or General Education Required

Licensure/Certification:

• Missouri Special Education Teaching Certificate preferred; Missouri Teacher or Sped Certification Required

Qualifications:

• Excellent time Management
• Possess a current, valid driver’s license
• Strong Communication, Interpersonal, and computer skills
• Proficient in Word, Excel and email applications
• Focused on customer service
• Language Skills

1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and before groups. Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.

• Mathematical Skills
  1. Ability to apply concepts of basic math, algebra, and geometry. The ability to use descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze, interpret and present data.
• Reasoning Ability
  1. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to problem solve simple and complex issues

Experience :

• Five (5) years’ experience in education; minimum of three in classroom

Preferred Experience/Skills:

• Three (3) years’ experience as a special education teacher

Experience working with children and families in a trauma informed environment
