Bais Yaakov, an all-girls high school, is hiring a history teacher. You will teach Western Civilization and American History at a collegiate level to highly motivated students in grades 10-12. This position is in conjunction with Quincy College and is ideal for a current graduate student (post Masters degree) in either education or History, a college instructor looking for additional teaching, or a recently retired teacher or professor who isn’t quite ready to leave it all behind!
What you will do
Classroom Instruction: You will teach 1 section of American history and 1 section of Western Civilization. While the curriculum is outlined by Quincy College, your passion and creativity will make a college curriculum come to life for high school students. Our small class sizes make it easier for you to tailor instruction to meet the individual needs of your students.
Communication: You will communicate regularly with families and with school administration about student progress, curriculum, and other issues as they arise. You will also have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across departments.
Who you are
Details
This is a part time position teaching 3 class periods per day for a total of 8 hours per week. There are no additional faculty meetings or obligations other than lesson preparation and grading.
About Bais Yaakov
Bais Yaakov is a highly regarded orthodox Jewish high school for girls. Our girls are highly motivated and have a high degree of empathy, making Bais Yaakov a great place for someone who wants to play a role in “whole child” development. We pride ourselves on our supportive community and the rigorous curriculum we provide for our students. Our small school means we all know each other and can personalize our teaching to the needs of our students. The mutual respect we have between teachers and families means we work together as a team. This is a place where we all know each other and are there for each other. Many of our girls go on to prestigious colleges, including Simmons, UMass, MIT, and Yeshiva University.
