About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and entrepreneurial Head of Macro Research to build the macro investing framework at Avenir. The ideal candidate will focus on identifying key global liquidity conditions, growth and inflation forecasts, regulatory shifts, and investor sentiment that influence the performance of crypto, equities, and fixed income assets. This position will involve using advanced macro data modeling techniques and AI tools to turn complex economic insights into actionable recommendations that support the family office’s investment strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Macro Research Framework: Build and refine a macro research framework to analyze the drivers of crypto, equities, and fixed income returns, with a focus on global liquidity conditions, growth and inflation trends, and investor positioning and sentiment.
• Regulatory & Policy Analysis: Monitor and analyze the impact of regulatory, policy, and geopolitical developments that may affect risky asset prices, including crypto.
• Macro Model Implementation: Use a data-driven approach to build macroeconomic models, utilizing AI tools to enhance the quality and speed of research, ensuring models are adaptable to market shifts. Lead technical teams in building robust infrastructure to support the macro research process, ensuring scalability and model accuracy.
• Tactical Asset Allocation Recommendations: Provide tactical asset allocation recommendations to guide positioning in crypto, equities, and fixed income markets based on macroeconomic trends and risk assessments.
• Expert Network Utilization: Leverage an established network of macro investors and experts to validate research insights, gather diverse perspectives, and stay ahead of macroeconomic trends impacting the crypto space.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in macro investing or macroeconomic research, with a deep understanding of macro drivers impacting liquidity, growth, and inflation, and how these factors translate into asset class performance.
• Hands-on experience in building, developing, and implementing macroeconomic models, including working with large datasets and quantitative techniques to forecast market trends and analyze global liquidity conditions.
• Familiarity with crypto markets and blockchain technology is preferred, though not required. An open mind and willingness to apply a macro lens to the crypto space is essential.
• Proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and collaborate with a global team.
• Strong analytical skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a strategic thinker capable of advancing macro research to the next level.
