Position: Group Health/Employee Benefits Insurance Agent

We are looking for a new agent to join our successful Group Health team at Tomlin Health Insurance. This role is focused on managing and servicing an existing book of small/medium group health business, as well as new business group health sales. We provide support, training and the tools you need to succeed. We desire a self-starter with strong customer service and sales skills that can contribute to our agency while providing exceptional client care. This position requires a minimum of two years experience in group health, with a desire for 5+ years of experience as a licensed Oregon insurance agent.

Responsibilities   include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and maintain relationships with current insureds.
  • Provide consistent, accurate, and timely communication to clients through verbal and electronic correspondence.
  • Process daily incoming email, and phone requests, responding promptly and appropriately.
  • Fully service and manage all aspects of an existing book of small group health business
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to help the customer identify specific products and solutions, including technical competence in areas of coverage and current markets
  • Explain and clarify coverage forms to clients. Assist clients in making appropriate coverage changes; inform and educate clients about coverage’s, exclusions, exposures, and audits and document electronic files accordingly.
  • Retain and renew existing client accounts, and look for cross-sell opportunities
  • Set appointments to discuss product needs to existing customers
  • Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken per agency standards
  • Enter information into our AMS for tracking
  • Support the fulfillment of inbound leads to the agency, as well as through your own networking and prospecting efforts in the local business community
  • General customer service and office duties as presented such as filing, answering the phone, scanning documents, etc.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Physical Environment:

Required job duties are performed in a climate-controlled office environment. Partial work from home schedule is allowed after a probationary period.

Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 or 5 p.m. (Seasonal)

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required. College Degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years working in small group health insurance or with a benefits brokerage/consulting firm.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Northwest group health marketplace
  • Successfully have provided high quality group health customer service
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - particularly Outlook, Excel, Word as well as Google
  • Able to type 45 WPM minimum
  • Ability to use copier, scanner and other office equipment
  • Ability to transfer calls, take messages, email messages to other agents or clients.
  • Professional demeanor and behavior is expected.
  • Must be organized and able to manage time effectively.
  • Must communicate effectively - both spoken and written.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
